why this kolaveri di

why this kolaveri di - why this burning rage????

According to 18-year-old composer Anirudh Ravichandran, the director Aishwarya Rajinikanth Dhanush the wife of the actor Dhanush wanted a simple song about screwed up love. This song is in the tamil movie "3" which is due to be released on 2012.

This song is especially sung as a favourite among the teens in and around mangalore lately. Well since I am an mangalorean this kolaveri has spread itself like a virus here and there. There is one incident which I would like to share, during the christmas carol singing competition where my  class for the first time officially screwed the show (and we are proud of it) as we were waiting for our turn on the stage we were actually singing carols in the kolaveri tune itself, some of the carols were our own. Some of the lyrics were like this:

     kaila gift - wonly english
     handla gift
     giftla friend
     eyes uh fulla tear tear
    empty gift, girl come a
    gift a reverse gear gear
god we are happy now she sad how
this song for class boys a
    we don't have choice

the point is whatever we do we make sure that there is a tinge of kolaveri in it even when we speak our conversations.

Of course how can we forget that this song won't be a hit all over the world?? This song is sung by Dhanush the son-in-law of the great, the one and only "Rajnikanth". Infact he had predicted that this song would be a super duper hit prior to its release. And whatever Rajni says or does we have no choice but to give in. Infact there was an sms

"What publicity Shahrukh managed to get for Ra-One in 3 months,
Kolaveri got it in just 5 Day!
after all…who is DHANUSH?
“RAJNIKANTH’S” Son-in-law…"

"Thank God, Why This Kolaveri Di song was sung by Dhanush. if it was sung by his father in law Rajnikanth, it could have been our national anthem now!"

This virus of Kolaveri has set a burning rage to all the musicians here and there to recreate "Kolaveri" in their style. In mangalore there are two popular versions
  • why this Kele Podi - the konkani version

Also there is a kolaveri sung by AKON, Neevan Nigam(Sono Nigam's son) and alot more. Personally I like the Neevan Nigam's version too.

Yes the lyrics here has been modified a bit, i.e. from the u/a version to the u version.

I am pretty sure that this song will be continued to be hummed by people all over the world for a long time. This is one song which had impressed me a lot (the original version). And as the time passed I started detesting it since I got tired hearing it again and again but yet still I fancy this song once again. So guys have a merry christmas and a new year with the Kolaveri.
